Our next exhibitor in the spotlight is Scandinavian Avionics. At TUS Nordics 2017 they will be present to show their Collision Avoidance, Tracking & ID System (CATI). This system consists of transponders which are able to broadcast and exchange information about the position, speed, direction, height and identification of UAVs. Anne Grauslund Hansen, Marketing Manager at, tells us more about Scandinavian Avionics.
Can you tell us something about Scandinavian Avionics?
‘The SA Group consists of 11 divisions located in Europe, the Middle East, South- and Southeast Asia. The headquarters, which was established in 1978, is located in Billund, Denmark. We provide the design, certification, installation and test of various UAV solutions. These complete turn-key avionics solutions are for civil and military aircraft, helicopters and UAS. Including sales, maintenance (MRO), certification (STC), design & engineering, installation, product development, production, training and consultancy services.’
What is Scandinavian Avionics going to show at TUS Nordics 2017?
‘Our stand will be entirely devoted to the Collision Avoidance, Tracking & ID System (CATI) for UAVs, which we developed. Mounted on a UAV, it can report the position, height, speed and direction to relevant people on the ground. It may also contain an identification number, so it is possible to identify the owner.’
Which people would you like to meet at the Exhibition?
‘We would like to meet military, police and fire brigade and other government representatives. In addition, we would like to come in contact with UAV OEM’s, OEM’s producing autopilots, camera’s, flir and satcoms for UAVs.’
